Fundraising Successes

Generous benefactors stepped forward recently to help meet pressing educational needs at both Durissy and Saintard!

The Second Annual Educate Haiti Gala was attended by 135 people who raised nearly $14,000. Over 90 Bloomington merchants and artists donated items for the Silent Auction. All the bidding wars were settled amicably!  Thanks to the many volunteers who helped.  The Gala kicked off a 4,200 mile and 23 day odyssey by two board members and Fr. Yves Anis.  Between the Gala and the contacts made during their travels, thirty new annual student sponsorships were secured.  These sponsorships directly support the educational needs of the schools.

Durissy Early Childhood Building-2015/16

The building above, sub-standard as it was in 2015/16, was destroyed by Hurricane Matthew on October 4, 2016.  The need for a good-quality building is now even greater.

Four donors, including both individuals and organizations, have each donated $30,000  We now have $120,000 of the projected $140,000 needed to build and equip this structure for five classes from Pre-K through Grade 1.  Anticipated ground-breaking is January 2017.
